Felicity Huffman could soon be heading back to small screen
Former "Desperate Housewives" star Felicity Huffman could be heading back to the small screen more than a year after she served time in prison for her role in the college admissions cheating scandal.
"Good Morning America" confirmed that Huffman has been cast to play a widow who takes over her husband's minor league baseball team in an untitled ABC comedy series. Zack Gottsagen, the actor who starred alongside Shia LaBeouf in "The Peanut Butter Falcon," is set co-star as her baseball-obsessed son.
The show, which is in development, is based on the real-life owners of the Sacramento River Cats, a AAA team that became one of the minor league's most valuable after Susan Savage inherited the team from her late husband. The network has committed to producing a pilot.
Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison and served 11 after she pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to commit mail fraud and honest service mail fraud last year. She also admitted that she paid $15,000 to falsify her daughter Sophia's SAT score.
Lori Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, were also implicated in the scandal and are both currently behind bars.
