Co-stars and the Hollywood community are remembering actress Polly Holliday, who died Tuesday at the age of 88.

Actress Maggie Wheeler, who appeared opposite Holliday in 1998's "The Parent Trap," remembered her in an Instagram post Wednesday.

Holliday played Camp Walden owner and director Marva Kulp Sr. in the film, and Wheeler played her assistant and daughter, Marva Kulp Jr.

"Here is to the incredible Polly Holliday. We had so much fun together on The Parent Trap from hanging out together in her trailer to being covered to chocolate syrup and driving on golf carts while the chocolate hardened! Oh how we laughed!" Wheeler wrote alongside photos of her and her co-star on set. "Thank you @nmeyers for the opportunity to work alongside Polly - what a gift."

"The Parent Trap" director Nancy Meyers followed up with a tribute to Holliday in her own Instagram post.

"So sad to hear of Polly Holliday's passing. She was so kind and game and just wonderful in every moment in The Parent Trap," Meyers wrote. "I just saw her the other night in All The President's Men. She was fantastic in that film. My condolences to her loved ones and friends."

Actress Elaine Hendrix, who played Meredith Blake in "The Parent Trap," also paid tribute to Holliday in a Threads post, writing, "RIP Polly Holiday. She slayed in so many projects. Of course my heart is with Marva Sn forever."

Holliday was best known for her role as sassy waitress Flo Castleberry in the sitcom "Alice," which ran from 1976 until 1980. As Flo, Holliday popularized the catchphrase, "Kiss my grits!"

The iconic role would earn her three Emmy Award nominations for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series.

Holliday went on to star in the "Alice" spin-off "Flo," which aired for two seasons from 1980 to 1981. The role once again earned her an Emmy nomination, this time for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series in 1980.

Holliday was also known for her roles as Mrs. Deagle in the 1984 movie "Gremlins," Gloria Chaney in "Mrs. Doubtfire" (1993) and Judge Westreich in 2006's "Stick It."

Holliday was born in Jasper, Alabama, on July 2, 1937, and died Sept. 9 in New York City, according to The New York Times.
