"Wicked: For Good" director Jon M. Chu made the film's New York premiere a family affair on Monday, after missing last year's "Wicked" premiere in Los Angeles for the birth of his youngest child.

The director of the highly anticipated follow-up to last year's "Wicked," Chu arrived on the red carpet alongside wife Kristin Hodge, with all five of the couple's children in tow.

Chu also posed with his four other children, Willow, Jonathan, Ruby and Iggy.

Last year, Chu made headlines after missing the Los Angeles premiere of "Wicked," for the birth of his youngest child.

"Missed my movie premiere to see this girl come into our world," Chu wrote in an Instagram post in February alongside a video of Stevie, reflecting on the infant's November birth. "Thank Oz I did."

Chu also posted an Instagram story the day of the premiere last year, according to People, writing, "This movie has always moved in mysterious ways. Today is a day I've been dreaming about for a long time. Two babies (a movie and a little girl) all at one time and I truly couldn't be happier."

"Send all the love to our insanely talented cast and crew tonight," he finished his post.

Chu discussed how being a father impacted his work in an interview with Parents last year.

"Being a father in general has changed my whole reason to be making movies," he said at the time. "When I had kids, it forces you to look at what you want them to grow up in -- what kind of stories do you want them to be around?"

"Wicked: For Good" releases in theaters Nov. 21.
