Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich are separating after nearly three years of marriage.
The couple -- who tied the knot in July 2017 after getting engaged in August 2015 -- issued a joint statement Friday announcing their decision to call it quits.
"We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate," they told People. "We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward."
The "Dancing With the Stars" favorite, 31, and the professional hockey player, 36, first began dating back in December 2013.
Most recently, the former couple explained their decision to quarantine separately amid the COVID-19 pandemic as fans were puzzled as to why they weren't in lockdown together.
