Liam Hemsworth breaks silence on Miley Cyrus split with Instagram post
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth continue to handle their split in a very mature, straightforward way.
The "Hunger Games" star took to Instagram to break his silence on the split and wish his ex the best.
"Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," he wrote late Monday night.
He added, "This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
The post comes along with a picture of a beautiful sunset.
Stars like Vivica A Fox shared their support, writing, "Stay strong and blessed and happy my friend!"
"Smallville" star Tom Welling added, "Love and support my dude."
The shocking news broke over the weekend, with the duo announcing that after less than a year married, they would be separating. Cyrus followed up the news with an inspiring message about change.
"Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win," she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of Italy's Dolomite mountains. "Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable."
She also posted an image of her in the studio on Monday. New music on the way?
At the time of the split, a rep for Cyrus told ABC News, "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time."
"Ever evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart," the statement added.
The power couple had just celebrated their 10th anniversary as a couple earlier this year.
