— -- Prince William and his wife have begun their second action-packed day in New York City, with Duchess Kate leaving a note at their first stop at the 9/11 Memorial in lower Manhattan.

Upon their arrival, Kate, wearing a pink Mulberry coat with a Seraphine dress underneath, and William, who protected himself and his wife from the pouring rain with an umbrella from the Carlyle hotel, were met by Joe Daniels, the president of the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

The group stood near the panel memorializing the victims from Flight 93, and Kate touched their names as they spoke. Then, she laid a bouquet of flowers provided by the museum by the memorial, along with a note that read, "In sorrowful memory of those who died on 11th September and in admiration of the courage shown to rebuild."
