On Tuesday, "Verzuz" co-creators Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announced the beloved singers as the next guests to appear on their music celebration series.

"The master class we've ALL been waiting for! @MsGladysKnight vs. @MsPattiLaBelle," the Instagram caption read. "Leave ya church clothes on all Sunday and pull up to the affair of all affairs. Y'all gotta get dressed up in ya Sunday's best for this one."

The event will take place live from Philadelphia at the legendary Fillmore for what's being dubbed the "Ultimate Verzuz."

Fans are hoping the two iconic singers will play their Grammy-nominated "Superwoman" collaboration featuring Dionne Warwick and written by Babyface as well as classic hits from their days as the leading ladies of two legendary groups in soul music.

Gladys Knight & the Pips claimed their success in the late '60s and '70s with signature hits such as "Midnight Train to Georgia" and "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)." Knight, who has won seven Grammys, went on to release solo classics such as "License to Kill" and "Men," for starters.

Meanwhile, LaBelle -- along with her group -- rose to fame with hits such as "Lady Marmalade," which was remade by Mya, Lil Kim, Christina Aguilera and Pink in 2002. After she went solo, the two-time Grammy-winner released several hits such as "If Only You Knew," "On My Own" and "New Attitude" to name a few.

Tune in Sunday, Sep. 13, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Apple Music and the Verzuz Instagram account.
