World Cup kicks off at McDonald's: New menu items, 6 player-inspired collectible cups and more

To help kick off the 2026 FIFA World Cup festivities, McDonald's is launching a new menu of meals complete with soccer legend-inspired collectibles.

The Golden Arches tapped a few of the greatest footballers in the world for its new World Cup campaign including Thierry Henry, David Beckham, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Lamine Yamal, and Son Heung-Min.

Starting June 4, the five soccer stars -- plus McDonald's own legend, Grimace -- will be featured on six new collectible cups that will be served as part of the new FIFA World Cup 26 Meal.

Customers can choose from a Big Mac or McNuggets served with fries and a drink.

Henry, who helped lead France to a World Cup victory in 1998, said during a press call ahead of the new menu drop that his go-to McDonald's order is a Big Mac.
Plus, in some markets, McDonald's will offer a new Happy Meal to bring match-day fun to younger fans, each served with one of 23 festive Squishmallows plushies that are kitted out in tournament-inspired jerseys.
Additionally, a new Golden McFlurry made with vanilla soft serve, swirled with caramel sauce and a toasted coconut topping will be available in some markets.

The packaging for longtime menu items like french fries has also been reimagined to resemble the World Cup trophy itself.
McDonald's said prices in the U.S. are determined at the individual restaurant level and may vary by market.
