Robin Roberts' Country Roots
Oct. 29, 2009— -- Robin Roberts has had a long love affair with country music, starting as a young girl growing up in the heart of the South.
Fans may be surprised to know that she learned some of the basics of broadcasting while spinning records at a country music station, and that her cowboy boots have been getting a workout ever since. ABC News has unearthed some little-known nuggets about "Good Morning America's" anchor, showing how deep her country roots really go.
Robin worked with Country Music Hall of Fame's Ralph Emery on WSMV-TV's "Ralph Emery Show" in Nashville, Tenn., from 1986 to 1988.
