Missing Utah teen found in Oregon after 500 days: FBI
A missing teenager has been located and recovered in Oregon more than 500 days after she was reported missing in Utah, according to authorities, who sent a warning to groups targeting children in a statement on the recovery.
According to an FBI Salt Lake City release, a missing 17-year-old girl was found on Sunday afternoon in Oregon with a 39-year-old man "who was taken into custody without incident."
The girl, the FBI said, was originally reported missing in Garden City, Utah, in May 2025.
"Tonight, local police in Oregon brought a minor who had been missing for a year and a half to safety, acting on information provided by our FBI Salt Lake City Field Office," FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement.
The statement continued, "We are grateful she can return home, and we will continue working with our partners to hold those responsible accountable."

Patel also issued a warning in the statement, saying, "To anyone using gore groups to target and exploit children: the FBI and our partners are coming for you."
The statement finished, "We are using every tool at our disposal to combat nihilistic violent extremism, bring offenders to justice and protect America's children."
The announcement did not elaborate on the warning.
The release said the FBI and the Rich County Sheriff's Office have been investigating the case.
The Rich County Sheriff's Office in Utah reposted the FBI's update.
