Anstead and the two-time Oscar winner met on Anstead's show \"Celebrity IOU: Joyride\" in 2021. Zellweger appeared in the premiere episode, which aired in August that year.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar in March 2022, Zellweger reflected on her meet-cute with Anstead.

\"It made me smile to think on this, yeah, the serendipity of it all,\" she said at the time.
