The object of the game is to build a community on an empty island which is done partially by collecting or selling items. Each player has their own island they can open to visitors.

There are perks to visiting other islands -- for instance, buying and selling turnips between islands. Players can increase their profit by visiting other islands.

Turns out Elijah Wood is spending his time in quarantine not only playing the game, but connecting with fans by paying their islands a visit.

When one fan announced her island's super-high resale value for turnips, the "Lord of the Rings" actor, 39, asked if she'd be cool if he swung by.

"Guys I tweeted my turnip prices and elijah wood just came to my island and hung out," the fan -- named Jessa -- tweeted Thursday "This is the best day in quarantine yet."
