These swings are absolute genius and they're popping up in parks all over the country

WATCH: These parent-child swings are genius

If you're a new or new-ish parent, you may not know that playground swings are a lot cooler than they used to be.

In many cities, gone are the days where a parent stands behind their little one, pushing them over and over, trying not to pass out from the monotony.

One of these cities is Davis, California, where standard swings have been replaced with Expression Swings. Leslie Rubin and her 15-month-old baby girl visit the Covell Greenbelt Playground and play on the swings frequently.

"I'd never seen them before, but they're getting installed in all the new play grounds in Davis," she told "Good Morning America."

Parents around the country might be seeing the Expression Swings, made by a company called GameTime, in a playground near them soon.

"Expression Swngs are extremely popular," Kent Callison, director of marketing at GameTime, told "GMA." "We've installed them in cities across the United States, and we've installed them in 26 countries on six continents since the original release in 2015. The city of Davis wanted to provide a fun and playful activity for parents and children to enjoy together and Expression Swings were the perfect fit."

Rubin said she loves the parent-child swing just as much as her toddler.

"We're so lucky to have so many parks within walking distance to our house, but the one with this swing is her favorite," Rubin said. "She loves it, she's usually laughing hysterically. She loves leaning in for kisses at the top."
