"I am beyond grateful to be receiving this overwhelming and humbling honor from the Board of Governors and the Television Academy. Every minute in this business has been the greatest gift that I'm eternally thankful for," Berlanti said in a press release. "It will be nice to have an opportunity to thank all the family, friends, showrunners, execs, cast, crews and audiences that have made an honor like this possible."

Berlanti has helped bring shows like "Dawson's Creek," "Brothers & Sisters," "Riverdale," "Supergirl," "Superman & Lois" and more to the small screen. He also produced "Red, White and Royal Blue" last year.

Who is hosting the 76th Emmys?

Actors Eugene Levy and Dan Levy are hosting the 76th Emmys and are making history as the first father-son duo to do so.

The "Schitt's Creek" stars opened up to "Good Morning America" earlier this month about how their dynamic will translate when serving as hosts.

Eugene and Dan Levy, the father-son stars of "Schitt's Creek," sat down with ABC News ahead of hosting the Sept. 15 Emmy Awards as part of "20/20" special, "The 76th Emmys: A Night of Firsts" with Robin Roberts, which airs Friday Sept. 13th at 8 p.m. ET.

"Bickering," Dan Levy said of their communication style. "I think we're fortunate enough to have a kind of chemistry that works on an award show."

Eugene Levy agreed, joking, "Yeah. It's kind of a bicker, kinda back and forth. It's a general lack of respect."

They also weighed in on whether or not some of their fellow "Schitt's Creek" pals could turn up at the Emmys.

"It's, at this point, maybe a possibility," Eugene Levy said.

Dan Levy, with a wink, added, "You might see them, just in ways you don't expect."
