'American Idol' names its Top 3: See who is going to the finale

Three singers are left in the running on this season of "American Idol."

After the remaining five competitors each gave their all with their renditions of hit Disney songs Monday night, America voted for the Top 3 singers and said goodbye to Thunderstorm Artis and Slater Nalley.

The Top 3 will compete in the finale next week and head to their hometowns for a special visit.

Below, see who's left in the competition and vying for the coveted "American Idol" title, and don't miss the finale on Sunday, May 18, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC.

The finale will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.

John Foster, 18

Foster secured his spot in the Top 3 with his country-inspired rendition of "The Bare Necessities" from "The Jungle Book."

"Idol" judge Lionel Richie lauded Foster's rendition and sang his response, "You've got the likability," to the tune of "The Bare Necessities." He added that many people have "fallen in love with you."

For his second song, Foster sang Willie Nelson's version of "The Rainbow Connection" by Jim Henson.

"Idol" judge Luke Bryan said Foster's performance was "authentically you."

Jamal Roberts, 27

Roberts sang "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, which was featured in "Remember the Titans."

"Idol" judge Carrie Underwood said Roberts had an "amazing voice" but said he "missed" an opportunity to move around while performing the song.

"We are getting close to the end here, it is time to pull out all the stops," she said.

When Roberts took the stage a second time, he opted for the classic "Beauty and the Beast" from the animated film of the same name.

Richie was in awe over how Roberts was able to turn "Beauty and the Beast" into an R&B song.

Breanna Nix, 25

Nix performed "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" by Natalie Cole, featured in 1998's "The Parent Trap."

Bryan said he "loved" Nix's vibe and said she "just delivered."

Nix delivered another memorable performance for her second song, when she sang "You'll Be In My Heart" from "Tarzan."

Richie not only praised Nix's voice, but also her confidence.

"I don't know what has happened, but your confidence has taken a whole new level and vibe," Richie said. "It's really wonderful to watch."
