'Friends' Central Perk coffee shop to open in New York City

A permanent Central Perk coffee shop is coming to New York City!

The fictional coffee shop, made famous as the recognizable gathering point of the "Friends" characters, will find itself a permanent spot in New York City's Time Square, according to a release from Central Perk Coffeehouse and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Doors are set to open to patrons in late fall 2025, according to the release.

"The contemporary take on the FRIENDS gathering spot is a must-visit where unforgettable moments, exceptional coffee, and delicious food come together in the city that started it all," read the release.

The cafe, which already has a Boston location, will share the same "food, beverage, and design experts," which include Tom Colicchio, an eight-time James Beard Award winner.

The layout of the new coffee shop will include an orange sofa room inspired by the iconic orange sofa in the show, according to the release.

"When we launched the first Central Perk Coffeehouse in Boston, our goal was always to expand to New York City, a place where fans and friends alike could create their own stories in the city where the series was set,” said CenPer Holdings executive Paul Landino in a statement included in the release.
