Kelly Clarkson to step down as host of 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' after 7 seasons
Kelly Clarkson's time as host of "The Kelly Clarkson Show" is coming to an end.
The singer, who has hosted the Daytime Emmy-winning syndicated series for seven seasons, announced in an Instagram post Monday that she is stepping down as host after this season.
NBC also confirmed in a press release that "The Kelly Clarkson Show" will conclude after its current seventh season.
Despite the news, Clarkson says this isn't goodbye.
"I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and in New York," the "American Idol" alum began in her message. "There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons."
She continued by saying how grateful she is of her band, crew, fans and more who have "shared their time and lives with us," saying stepping away "was not an easy decision."
"This season will be my last hosting TKCS," she said. "Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives."
Clarkson added, "I'll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on 'The Voice' from time to time... you never know where I might show up next."
"But for now, I want to thank y'all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years."
In its press release, NBC said that production on season seven will continue as planned with Clarkson as host. Special guest hosts will also be announced and season seven episodes will air through Fall 2026, the press release adds.
"The Kelly Clarkson Show" debuted in September 2019. Not only did her show include interviews with stars across film, television, music and more, but audiences also loved her "Kellyoke" segment, where she would cover songs chosen by audience members.
Several Kellyoke moments have gone viral over the years, including Jelly Roll's "Save Me," Coldplay's "Fix You," Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" and Ariana Grande's "7 Rings."
Over the years, the show has earned several accolades, including eight Daytime Emmy Awards.
Following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in August 2025, Clarkson took time off from her show and returned in late September 2025.
She and Blackstock married in 2013 and divorced in 2022. They share two children together, daughter River Rose and son Remington "Remy" Alexander.
