Pop superstar Kylie Minogue recently revealed she was diagnosed with cancer a second time just a few years ago, more than a decade after her first cancer diagnosis.

The "Can't Get You out of My Head" singer, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, said in her new Netflix docuseries "KYLIE" that she received a second cancer diagnosis in 2021.

"I've been trying to find the right time to say it," Minogue, 57, says in the final episode of the limited series. "I don't feel obliged to tell the world, and actually, I just couldn't at the time, because I was just a shell of a person."

Minogue broached the topic of her second diagnosis while discussing her 16th studio album "Tension," which was released in 2023.

The album includes the Grammy Award-winning single "Padam Padam," as well as the song "Story," which the singer said was written about her second cancer diagnosis.

"I really just wanted to say what happened, so I can let go of it," Minogue says in the docuseries. "Thankfully I got through it again, and all is well."

Minogue was 36 when she was initially diagnosed with breast cancer. At the time, she was on a tour and was also slated to perform at Glastonbury Festival.

Minogue said she ended up having to cancel the tour and underwent surgery to remove the lump in her breast. She said she also underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which she said was "hard" for her physically and mentally.

"I remember the pain just to get down the street was a real achievement. I felt removed from my body, removed from the world," she recalls in the docuseries, adding, "I was feeling in the depths of absolute uncertainty."

The singer-songwriter said that what got her through it all was her family. In both instances, she said music also played a role in her healing process.

"Pop music nurtures me," she says in the Netflix series. "My passion for music has been greater than ever. My story continues."
