Usher surprises mom who opened her home to over 300 foster kids
Music superstar Usher surprised one Georgia mom, this year's "Breakfast in Bed" on "Good Morning America" honoree, ahead of Mother's Day on Sunday.
The singer-songwriter sent a video message to Rose Diggs of Smyrna, Georgia, on Friday, saying, "The amazing woman you are to your family, your kids, as well as so many young people in Atlanta, I wanted to do something real special just for you."
He added, "This November, I'm inviting you and a few to come see me on tour. That's right, four tickets, just for you, Rose. Thank you so much for all that you do. Happy Mother's Day."

Diggs was nominated for the "Breakfast in Bed" surprise by her children Tanya Nebo and Euniq Nebo, who called her a "superhero," not just for being their mom, but because she has opened her home over the years to more than 300 foster children.
"I'm so grateful. I'm so grateful that they think that I deserve this, because I'm telling you, they are all beautiful people too, and I just want to share it. I'm glad I can share it with all of you," Diggs said.
Euniq Nebo said Diggs "makes everyone feel accounted for, important, special, worthy," adding, "From the time you say hello, she'll greet you with a smile, a kind smile and a warm heart."
Diamond Robinson is one of the many former foster care children whom Diggs has helped. Today, Robinson said she calls Diggs her "granny" and opened up about their special relationship.
"Everywhere I go, that's my granny. She's just a beautiful sunflower ... she just blooms," Robinson said of Diggs. "Her aura, everything about her is mind-blowing. She is a perfect figure to look up to."
With her nonprofit Down 7 Up 8 Inc., Diggs serves children in need with free virtual tutoring, mentoring and support programs.
Diggs' friend Jennifer Lowther, a board member for Down 7 Up 8 Inc., and her family and community gathered at Taylor-Brawner Park in Smyrna on Friday to surprise Diggs with breakfast in a bed provided by Mattress Firm.

Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton also presented Diggs with a plaque and declared May 8, 2026, Rose Diggs Day.
"Smyrna, Georgia, is incredibly proud to call you one of our own. Your love has changed hundreds of lives, but your impact goes well beyond our city," Norton said.
To support Diggs' mission of helping kids, the Georgia-based credit-reporting company Equifax also donated a $20,000 grant to her nonprofit, Straight Talk Wireless contributed $15,000, and Mattress Firm also provided $15,000 towards grant-writing services. Skechers donated 300 pairs of shoes for children to get them ready for back-to-school season.
For Diggs specifically, the vacation rental company VRBO gifted her a $10,000 getaway and Usher provided tickets to his R&B stadium tour with Chris Brown that kicks off June 26.
Two-time Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Keri Hilson, a Georgia native, also surprised Diggs with a live performance of her song "Pretty Girl Rock" at the park.
"When one woman has impacted as many lives as she has, over 300, it is really truly an honor to honor you," Hilson said of Diggs. "You are a mother to an entire community."
