Cook with culinary legends from 'Chef's Table' with new Airbnb experience

Whether you're a culinary aficionado or have plans to travel with someone who is, a new gastronomic experience from Airbnb will put you alongside the world's most notable chefs in some of the most famed kitchens.

Five stars of the Emmy-winning series "Chef's Table" will host an all-new experience, exclusively with Airbnb, that whisks guests away from the ordinary and immerses them in an unforgettable masterclass that explores the culinary pulse of top dining destinations.

From pasta making with Chef Jamie Oliver in London and the history of pizza with Chef Chris Bianco in Los Angeles, to hands-on baking with Chef Elena Reygadas in Mexico City, culinary artistry with Chef Atsushi Tanaka in Paris, and the art of plated dessert with Chef Justin Lee in Seoul, there's something for every type of food-motivated traveler.

The average price of the new Airbnb Originals is $200 per guest and goes on sale to book starting Thursday, Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. local time.

"Chef’s Table has been sharing important culinary stories on Netflix for the last decade, and we’ve long dreamed of finding a way for people to experience them first-hand," president of Chef’s Table Projects, Justin Connor, said in a statement. "We’re excited to partner with Airbnb to bring this vision to life – curating immersive culinary experiences around the world for guests to discover regional food culture and step into the story."

The five new options join a curated collection of "Chef’s Table" experiences currently available on Airbnb, which include a class at Shuko Oda's Koya in London and a mezcal tasting with James Beard Award winner, Ali Kurshat Altinsoy, in Mexico City.

"Together, we’re taking Chef’s Table and its signature storytelling beyond the screen and bringing it into the real world," Airbnb Chief Business Officer Dave Stephenson said. "It's not just the best way to learn about a place’s cultural heritage through food but also to experience it with some of the most famous chefs shaping it."

New 'Chef's Table' experiences on Airbnb

Pasta Making with Chef Jamie Oliver in London: "Guests will be introduced to the history and artistry of pasta making. They’ll sip and learn as they soak in stories and techniques passed down through generations. The main course is a hands-on, 1.5-hour masterclass where Chef Oliver guides guests through crafting a variety of pasta shapes from scratch," Airbnb stated. "They’ll also create a flavorful pesto and bring it all together for one delectable dish. Guests will then tour Jamie’s creative world with an exclusive look at his TV studio, culminating with a photo from the iconic set as a memento."

History of Pizza with Chef Chris Bianco in Los Angeles: This experience "begins with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of his award-winning restaurant Pizzeria Bianco, uncovering the stories and traditions that have elevated it to legendary status," Airbnb said. "Alongside Chef Bianco, guests sit for a four-course menu that celebrates distinct themes from the restaurant’s storied history. The experience concludes with an enlightening Q&A, offering a rare opportunity to dive deep into the chef’s creative philosophy and cultural roots."

Hands-on Baking with Chef Elena Reygadas in Mexico City: Guests will go inside the famed pastry kitchen of Panadería Rosetta, to "explore the ingredients, stories, and rhythms that shape her approach to baking. Guided by Chef Reygadas, participants will prepare three signature recipes: pinole polvorones, a corn muffin, and a chocolate mousse with hoja santa. As the final touches come together, guests will sit down to savor what they’ve made—accompanied by refreshing beverages and thoughtful conversation. Each guest will leave with a small keepsake and the memory of an afternoon spent baking at the heart of one of Mexico’s most beloved bakeries."

Culinary Artistry with Chef Atsushi Tanaka in Paris: The experience takes place at the Franco-Japanese chef’s acclaimed restaurant, A.T. "This experience brings guests closer than ever to Chef Tanaka’s journey across the world, building a cuisine that is both personal and quietly poetic. In this intimate five-course dinner, guests are invited to discover how Chef Tanaka composes with sensitivity -- from the choice of vessel to the final gesture on the plate," the description states. "The experience unfolds on artisanal ceramics sourced from around the globe, which become part of Tanaka’s signature language of plating, with each dish a dialogue of colors, textures, and flavors -- refined yet never detached from deliciousness. After the dinner, Chef Tanaka will offer guests a live plating demonstration right from the table, walking guests through each step while explaining all of his muses, from colors to ceramics."

The Art of Plated Dessert with Chef Justin Lee in Seoul: This gives customers an "opportunity to go behind the curtain on Chef Lee’s innovative approach to dessert, celebrated for turning traditional pastries into visual and sensory masterpieces," Airbnb said. "The experience begins with champagne or non-alcoholic sparkling tea before diving into Chef Lee’s signature techniques, and features an exclusive behind-the-scenes kitchen tour and intimate Q&A session with Chef Lee. Later, guests are invited to try their own hand at bold flavor pairings and artistic plating."
