This teacher's method for taking attendance makes us wish we were in his class
An educator who made his way to celeb status with viral dance moves is now greeting his students in an epic new video.
Dr. Trevor Boffone, a Spanish teacher at Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Texas, shares videos online of him dancing with his students. Now, he's sharing the fun way he occasionally approaches attendance with his 198,000 Instagram followers.
"What's really been the most exciting is not so much the attention," Boffone told "Good Morning America." "I've had teachers connect across the country who want to know how to implement these things in their classroom. They see me connect with the students in a way that the education department doesn't necessarily do."

Boffone and two of his students appeared on "GMA's" broadcast during the last school year, in May 2019, and showed off their moves.
Boffone said when the school year began, his father died, and once he began building relationships with his students, it helped him heal and fall in love with teaching again.
Boffone said he started Dubsmashing when he saw his students took an interest in it. He and the kids often choreograph moves together.
Dubsmash is an app for iOS and Android that allows users to lip sync over their favorite audio clips from sections of songs, movies or television.
In his latest video, viewed nearly 66,000 times, Boffone and two of his students demonstrate their morning greetings.
"I'll fist bump, or I'll 'hit the woah,'" Boffone explained.
Boffone now hosts workshops for other teachers who are interested in developing closer relationships with their students.
