Prince William gets candid about Queen Elizabeth II and what Windsor meant to her
Prince William opens up about his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II in a new preview clip from an upcoming season 3 episode of "The Reluctant Traveler."
In the new clip from the Apple TV+ series, which follows Canadian actor Eugene Levy around the world to different hotels and international locations, the Prince of Wales gives Levy a tour of Windsor Castle while reflecting on the late monarch's enduring presence.
"Do you miss your grandmother?" Levy asks in the clip.
William replies, "I do actually, yeah. I do miss my grandmother and my grandfather."
"It's been quite a bit of change, so you do sort of -- you think about them not being here anymore and particularly being in Windsor. For me Windsor is her," William continues. "So, she loved it here, she spent most of her time here. Showing you around today is very much a case of trying to make sure I'm doing it in the way she'd want you to see it."
He adds, "She had her horses here as well, as you can imagine was a big deal for her. So that's why she loved it here."
Elizabeth, who died in September 2022, spent much of her final years at Windsor Castle, including quarantining there during the pandemic. She was later laid to rest at St. George's Chapel, located on the castle grounds.
William will appear on the upcoming episode of "The Reluctant Traveler" titled "Living the Royal Life in the U.K."
In the episode, he also discusses his vision for the future of the monarchy, how he hopes to modernize the institution, and how he coped with his wife's illness while caring for their children.
Viewers will also see the prince in lighter moments -- arriving at Windsor Castle on an e-scooter and sharing a pint with Levy.
According to a press release, the eight-episode third season of "The Reluctant Traveler" follows host Eugene Levy "as he sets out to discover what the 'ultimate travel bucket list' is all about, and he gets a little help from a very special guest, the Prince of Wales."
"The Reluctant Traveler" season 3 debuted on Apple TV+ on Sept. 19. The U.K. episode is scheduled for release Friday, Oct. 3.
New episodes will be released weekly.
