"I'm just about to move to America," he said, before joking, "I feel like I might be the only person moving to America."

Sheeran explained that his wife Cherry Seaborn and their daughters Lyra, 4, and Jupiter, 2, will be joining him, noting the move makes sense since he'll be touring in the U.S. for an extended period.

"I'm going on tour there for a while, and I have a family, so I can't dip in and out," he continued. "We're going and settling there."

While he didn't disclose which part of the country he'll call home, Sheeran has previously shared his admiration for Nashville.

"When you transition to country, you can't transition back," he told podcast host Alex Cooper during an appearance on "Call Her Daddy" in April. "Nashville is my favorite city in the States, and it's always been my end goal to move to Nashville and transition to country."

Currently, Sheeran's website does not list any upcoming U.S. tour dates aside from a Sept. 20 performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. But with his new album, "Play," set for release on Sept. 12, a tour could soon follow.
