‘Wheel of Fortune’ co-host Vanna White shares where she now stands with Pat Sajak
"Wheel of Fortune" co-host Vanna White gave fans an update on her off-screen relationship with former co-host Pat Sajak.
Sajak gave an emotional farewell to the long-running ABC show in June 2024. White -- his co-host for decades -- shared last week that the two are still "friends."
In an interview with TV Insider published April 24, White said, "I still see him! We're friends. We have dinner!"
She added, "Yeah, he's still in my life."
Sajak hosted "Wheel of Fortune" for more than four decades, starting in 1981, while White joined the show a year later. Together, they worked on more than 8,000 episodes.
Reflecting on their bond, White said being around Sajak feels natural and familiar.
"It's like slipping into something very comfortable," she explained. "I mean that in the best possible way. It's just comfortable."
Following Sajak's departure, Ryan Seacrest stepped in to take over hosting duties, making his official "Wheel of Fortune" debut in September 2024.
White praised Seacrest for his preparation and approach to the iconic role.
"Ryan did his homework," White told TV Insider. "He rehearsed and rehearsed and rehearsed. He also said to me, 'I am not replacing Pat Sajak because no one could – ever. I am just stepping in.' That made me feel good because, as Ryan said, he's just stepping in – he's not trying to prove anything."
Still, fans who are eager for more of White and Sajak's beloved chemistry won't have to wait long because the longtime co-hosts will reunite for Sajak's "final spin" as host of "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" when Season 5 premieres on ABC on April 30. It will also be available for streaming on Disney+.
The new season will span several episodes and feature celebrity guests including Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Rainn Wilson, Ellie Kemper, Katharine McPhee and Joe Manganiello.
