Ben Affleck returned to his role as director, debuting his new Dunkin' ad during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards Tuesday night.

The actor and filmmaker stars in the new spot alongside rapper Ice Spice to promote Dunkin's new Ice Spice Munchkins drink. The ad comes seven months after Affleck's hit Dunkin' commercial with wife Jennifer Lopez, which aired during the Super Bowl in February.

"I've always been a Dunkin' girl," Ice Spice said in a statement. "Collaborating with Dunkin' and Ben Affleck on this spot was a dream. The drink has a fun twist, a little something in the name for my fans, too. I can't wait for everyone to try it."

Building on his viral affinity for his hometown, Affleck wrote and directed the latest spot with Artists Equity to join the roster of Dunkin' commercials.

The spot, which draws inspiration from Ice Spice's fan base, features an "amusing take on the two powerhouses brainstorming the next big thing for Dunkin'," according to a press release.

The seasonal coffee drink, which rolls out Wednesday morning, is made with pumpkin Munchkin doughnut holes blended into frozen coffee, and topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle.

Dunkin' Chief Marketing Officer Jill McVicar said in a press release the brand wanted to shake things up during pumpkin spice season and called Tuesday's ad "the collaboration you never knew you needed" for a drink she hailed as "not your ordinary pumpkin drink."
