Emmy Awards 2024 recap: Biggest moments from the 76th annual awards show

Emmys 2024: The best moments from the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards honored the best in television Sunday night.

Winning in the major categories for outstanding drama series, outstanding comedy series, and outstanding limited or anthology series were "Shōgun," "Hacks" and "Baby Reindeer," respectively.

"Shōgun" won the most Emmys of any other program this year, taking home 18 total between the Creative Arts Emmys and Primetime Emmy Awards ceremonies, with "The Bear" following close behind with 11 total wins.

Emmys 2024: Every look from the red carpet arrivals

The ceremony featured several standout moments including TV reunions for "Happy Days" and "The West Wing," as well as a powerful "In Memoriam" tribute performance from Jelly Roll honoring stars who died in the past year.

"Schitt's Creek" co-stars Eugene and Dan Levy hosted this year's awards show as the first father-son duo to do so.

'Abbott Elementary' stars arrive on the carpet

Several "Abbott Elementary" cast members have arrived on the Emmys red carpet.

Quinta Brunson, who is nominated tonight for lead actress in a comedy series, walked the carpet in a floor-length black gown with large bows by Georges Chakra.

Lisa Ann Walter arrived in a white gown with a unique chartreuse sash detail, while Janelle James also arrived on the carpet in a fun one-shoulder floor-length gown with a dramatic slit.

'RuPaul's Drag Race' winner Nymphia Wind brings banana-chic to Emmys red carpet

"RuPaul's Drag Race" season 16 winner Nymphia Wind brought her signature style to life on the 2024 Emmys red carpet by wearing a full-body banana outfit -- complete with peels.

The Taiwanese drag queen, who was crowned the latest winner of the mainline "Drag Race" franchise in April, was known for rocking yellow fashion on the reality competition series.

"Welcome to the yellow cult," Wind's Instagram bio reads, also stating, "Here spreading banana fever."

Appearing on "Good Morning America" in April, Wind spoke about the impact of her win.

"It's very important for me to represent my country," she said. "Because I love Taiwan, and to be able to showcase that on 'RuPaul's Drag Race' means so much to me."

Emmys hosts Dan and Eugene Levy hit the carpet

Tonight's hosts, Dan and Eugene Levy, have arrived on the red carpet.

The actors, who are also known for their Emmy-winning show, "Schitt's Creek," are the first father-son duo to host the awards show.

Ahead of the show, Dan and Eugene Levy told ABC News' Chris Connelly that their humor and banter is what makes their chemistry as hosts work.

"It's kind of a bicker, kinda back and forth. It's a general lack of respect," Eugene Levy said.

"I think we're fortunate enough to have a kind of chemistry that works on an award show," Dan Levy added.

Which shows are nominated for the top awards tonight?

All the most talked-about shows of the year are competing against each other at the Emmys in the top categories.

Competing for outstanding comedy series this year are "Abbott Elementary," "The Bear," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Hacks," Only Murders in the Building," "Palm Royale," "Reservation Dogs" and "What We Do in the Shadows."

Outstanding drama series has "The Crown," "Fallout," "The Gilded Age," "The Morning Show," "Mr. & Mrs Smith," "Shōgun," "Slow Horses" and "3 Body Problem" all battling it out.

Going head-to-head in the outstanding limited or anthology series category are "Baby Reindeer," "Fargo," "Lessons in Chemistry," "Ripley" and "True Detective: Night Country."

Billy Crudup wins Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series for ‘The Morning Show’

Billy Crudup won the Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series for "The Morning Show."

In his acceptance speech, Crudup shouted out the "writers and the educators who allowed me to do the writing that was beyond my level" on the show. He also gave a shoutout to his wife Naomi Watts, who is nominated tonight for outstanding lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie for her role in "Feud: Capote vs. The Swans."
