George, Charlotte and Louis join mom and dad Prince William and Kate on red carpet

The Cambridge family -- Prince William and Kate and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis -- made its red carpet debut Friday when the family of five attended a show at the London Palladium.

William and Kate held the hands of George, 7, Charlotte, 5, and Louis, 2, as they walked the red carpet outside the Palladium to watch a special pantomime performance held to thank essential workers and their families, according to Kensington Palace.

Prince William delivered a speech before the performance to thank the workers for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic, and was later joined by Kate to meet with some of the workers' families, according to the palace.

The Cambridges did not wear face masks on the red carpet, but were spotted wearing masks inside the theater.

William and Kate just returned this week from a three-day train tour across England, Scotland and Wales to thank essential workers and volunteers who stepped up to help during the pandemic.

William and Kate ended their train tour in Windsor, where they gathered at Windsor Castle with Queen Elizabeth and other members of the royal family to extend more thanks to volunteers and workers.

The gathering marked the first time the extended royal family has been together in public since early March when they attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
