TikTok has brought joy to millions of Americans during 2020.

From viral dances to The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” and Jason DeRulo’s “Savage Love” to recreating some of the most popular memes or even showcasing their talents, many around the world have found a community on TikTok -- especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

While people hunkered down indoors, TikTok provided a space for them to try new recipes like whipped coffee and pancake cereal, learn how to take care of plants and even offer tips on how to upgrade your skincare routine.

But TikTok also became a platform for many in the U.S. during quarantine to inspire others to get out and vote. Ahead of the 2020 Election in November, users on the app including celebrities like Lizzo and Selena Gomez used the platform to tell their followers to vote this year.

Whether people used TikTok to showcase their talent during quarantine, learn new dances or recipes, many can agree that the app has lifted them up during these uncertain times.

With its “This Year on TikTok: Top 100” list, TikTok is rounding up some of their top trending videos of the year.

“It’s been an honor to watch these videos and creators grow and share what have become iconic, sometimes even life-changing moments of 2020,” Vanessa Pappas, interim Head of TikTok, said in a statement. “TikTok is here to bring joy, and with the year we’ve experienced, I’m thrilled to take a trip down memory lane and celebrate the myriad of ways the TikTok community helped us come together, bridge divides and find both lightness and poignancy when we needed it most.”
